I have to say this band jumped up from nowhere and bit me right on the arse!! Not my normal cup of tea, but such beautiful songs and fantastic lyrics...and they are local to me (Burton On Trent)
Nick Hemmings (Singer/Songwriter) originally set up the band with Shane Meadows & Paddy Considine before they went off into Movies (Dead Mans Shoes, 24/7, This is England etc) and Nick actually wrote some of the score for those films.
They've just been nominated for an Ivor Novello award as well.
Sounds a bit like Polyphonic Spree crossed with Turin Breaks to me.

the album arrived today and it is simply beautiful! very 'simon & garfunkel' like - well worth a listen.
