OFFICIAL DERBY COUNTY STATEMENT Posted on: Mon 20 Apr 2009
Derby County have today parted company with Academy manager Phil Cannon, technical manager David Lowe and assistant Academy manager Brian Borrows.
The club would like to pay tribute to the professionalism and commitment of the trio. However it is the intention to take Academy in a different direction for the 2009/10 season and beyond.
A spokesman for Derby County said: "Phil, David and Brian leave with our best wishes for the future and with our thanks for the hard work they done for Derby County.
"It is our wish to take the Academy in a new direction as we look to move the club forward and that will include new leadership at its helm.
"The Academy is an important part of our club's future and we intend to focus our energies on finding and developing the very best talent in Derbyshire and across the East Midlands."
Derby County Football Club will make a further announcement regarding the future structure of the Academy in due course.
well.......Cannon came with a hell of a CV and Lowe clearly had some tactical nouse after leading the Rams to the win over Man Utd.
Seems like a strange move to me, but we have to trust in Cloughies judgement - he clearly didnt like the way the academy was going.
