Absolutely dire at times there - I'd expect better than that from Blue Square teams!
I know they're playing at altitude and all that, but you can only carry that excuse so far - bloody awful performance.
Incidentally, Tim Vickery's newest column entry on the BBC site talks about this game; he seems to think they got a lot of things wrong!

Maybe Maradona was too busy buying his next 12 months supply of 'Bolivian Marching Powder' to be interested in some poxy football match?

I was watching this and thought at halftime Dunghead would make changes to get the team more compact and hit Bolivia on the break. He made no changes until an hour. Masche could barely move and Heinze looked like he was turning blue. Dunghead still persists in playing Papa who would struggle to get into Watford's team and Heinze when players like Forlin and Garay are available. Heinze nearly gifted Venuzuela with a gift goal as per usual. di Maria did not help getting himself deservedly sent off. Shameful performance. No surprise though with Diego in charge of preperation. Pekerman won there in 2005 with a reserve side having split the squad into two to give one half time to acclimatize . Chile under Bielsa have won there 2-0 and Uruguay came back to draw 2-2. The altitude is a poor excuse. Shameful tactical and physical preperation. The last Bolivian goal at normal altitude Carizzo would have saved but at that height the ball travels faster and it was beyond him . NMakes the oack ofpot shots from the Argentina strikers all one of tghem who is not even really a '9' all the more puzzling. Diego out. The Argentine press are a disgrace too. Too scared to attack the 'god' whereas other managers would have been hounded to death. 6-1 to Bolivia. Easily the worst defeat in Argentina's proud and distinguished football history. Unless the pillock sorts the defence out and gets a proper striker upfront ie Cavegol or Higuain (both ignored for the stellar talents of Lisandro Lopez playing in a joke league or dare I say it German Denis) it will be 2002 all over again. Unsuprising to see Diego badmouth Roman. Totally unprofessional but to be expected. Rich is right ie 3rd goal where Papa fails to close Bolivian winger and Carizzo is urging Zanetti to watch the incoming striker but is ignored. Thats piss poor defending even for a Chumpionship team.

If Bolivia could win away from La Paz they'd have a chance of qualifying!
