Dwain Chambers is back. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/athletics/7938590.stmApparently the head of Britains Athletic Comittee a Dutchman is so desperate for medals (after the comparitive failure at Beijing) he is willing to let the cheat go to 2012. I by accident saw the cheat at the European Indoors meet and immediately switched over. Most of the top class athletics meets ie the Weltklasse in Zurich Bislett in Oslo have banned him (good for them) but Berlin shamefully has decided to go the other way. This despite the fact that the benefit of drugs use remains with an athlete despite a ban. Other drug cheats ie Janine Whitlock in the pole vault can still compete in 2012. When will life bans come in for a positive test ? Surely you should not give them a second chance as with Blonska who again cheated ? When will athletics get its act together as road cycling has had to do in order to retain the sports credibility ? Still no sign of compulsory blood tests either .

Go Dwayne,Go! Eh ? You're not supporting a cheat are you Magic. Boo. For some reason i do believe everyone deserves a second chance, in secondary school i could easilly have been kicked out for doing something silly and out of character but i was given a second chance and passed my GCSEs in flying colour's. Of course somebody who is a criminal is a different matter.

Big difference between a minor school misdemeanour (what was it ? )and cheating somebody else out of medals and lots of prize money and sponsorship.
And in the gaze of millions of viewers.
If cheats know they have a second chance in sport it tips them towards it. If they knew once caught they had no chance of making it ever again they might seriously consider ever taking the drugs in the first place.
I'm sure his team mates in the 4x100m relay were pleased Malcolm, Campbell when they had their medals stripped because of his failed test.

Positive tests for performance-enhancing drugs should carry a lifetime ban in my opinion.
