We had a VERY VERY VERY early start today at 10:20 am! . The game should never of happened, it was cold, damp and very dark, but the game went on anyway. We had a very strong 11 today, full of good batsmen and bowlers. I was nominated as captain today . We had 7 bowlers today, including 3 very fast bowlers, and I let 2 of them bowl for an hour, then 2 mediums come on, and mixed between fast and medium until about the 35th over, until I brought the spin on. I brought my self on to bowl for 4 overs, we had plenty of time as it was a 65 overs a side match, we all bowled well and were bowling about 5 overs over the required rate, between 12:15 and 1:15 we bowled 23 overs! . At about 1:45 the 65 overs were bowled, with them getting 237-8. We got the runs in only 31 overs with only losing 2 wickets. I dind't bat at all. We played on a huge park with 4 fairly small pitches, it was damp and everyone struggled to move around with the gear, and the feilders were slipping an sliding

Clapton 4th's last ever game after a long and hard 16 year history, 5 of us are leaving and joining other clubs elsewhere, 3 of us, including me are going to the Clapton 3rd's. And the others are leaving for ever, sad stuff, so today we had to make the game special, as everyone wanted to bowl, none of us wanted to be wicket keeper, until about 10 minutes before the match I put my hand up to have to gloves, I couldn't use them though as we batted first.
The captain put me down as number 5, but I ended up coming in at number nine, getting 25 not out from 37 balls, in the process scoring 2 fours. The team got a huge 368-7 from out 58 overs, I was very nervous going out to keep, we brought on some bowlers we wouldn't think of, our captain bowled his first over ever for the club and hes been there for 4 years. I didn't have to do to much, and at 28-0 I got my first catch, edged strait into my hands, a few more wickets got by and we seem to not bowl strait, keep me catching the ball more. By the 28th over all 10 out fielders had bowled. Our were 130-7 by then, I had 2 catches in the book, we use our better bowlers who were spinners, and I got another catch, we got them to 9 wickets for 153 off 36 overs, and we bring on the WORST bowler in our team on, who is shite, hes bowled 35 overs in the 10 years hes been there, went for 400 odd runs, without a single wicket. H e bowled one which was heading wide which somehow span so much it goes strait passed me for 4 byes. Second ball, he did the same thing and I stayed in the same place, the batter ran down the wicket and missed, so I knocked the bails off quickly, and we won by 209 runs.
I went to the bar and had 1 soft drink before getting a lift home, the guy on my team who gave me a lift home talked to my dad on how well I did, and that even though I dropped a catch and let a few byes go, I had a smile on my face through out.
Thanks very much Clapton 4ths!

Narrowly lost today, gutted as it was there for the taking, but never mind! We're still bottom of the league, but we have a young team and we didn't have our best batsman (or woman, not really fussed).
We managed to get them 145-6 off their 35 overs. I picked up a wicket, four overs for 23. Bowled her off-stump, which I was pleased with, as I'd had a caught and bowl appeal turned down and our wickie had dropped one. When we started batting, our opener played well, but wasn't really running much. I got a couple of fours in my 11, then was out plum LBW to a yorker that hit me right on my big toe. It's now bruised, but I came off to be told England had drawn. ;d

After school we played a 35 overs a side match, it took ages. They got 189-5 from their 35 overs, I bowled 3 overs which went for 11. The innings was dull, and boring, then the thunder and lightning came, as it wasn't raining we continued, it was very dark, and after a while it was getting bad The whole ground kept getting lit up. Luckily for us and them they bowl us all out just before it got really scary and bad ;D. It was so dark I got 2 from 11 balls

Another win, we got 263-8 form our 50 overs, and I got 71 from 126 balls, I got off to a slow start. We bowl and not nice to see our wicket keeper loose 4 of his teeth after being hit badly, all the best to him, he had to quit the match so we had 10 players. I got 2 wickets today, 5-1-18-2. We bowled them all out for 87.

You know what, today was the greatest days cricket I had ever been apart of, what match, what a place to play, beautiful place. We loss to toss and were asked to bat first, we were looking for about 280-290 off our 65 overs, but weren't ever expecting 347-3! I opened and got, wait for it, wait for it..... 103! NOT OUT! Yep, batted through 65 overs and only just scrambled to make a century in the 2nd to last over! From 168 balls, including 4 fours, about 70 of my runs were singles! WE knew that they were never going to get 347, but they did, they got exactly 347-3 from their 65 overs, I bowled 11-1-38-0. With no injuries. Suffered from cramp half way through the spell which was embarrassing, I was lying on the floor and our captain had to stretch my foot back, next ball I had a plum lbw turned down though But what a game, and even better we had a wedding going on with about 100 people sort of watching us!

Nope, its a 3 day charity match mate, pretty stupid to make us lot play for 3 days , there is a 5 day match early August which I might drop out of, we started the day on 208-2, a wicket fell early on, I was told to go out and play some singles, I got to a best ever 148, Including 6x6s! (Not in one over of course) And 15 fours. And the team make an amazing 699-5, as we declare. Our Captain hit a record breaking 327 from 498 balls, (He opened as no.1) Including 46 fours. Sunday shall be the third day as tomorrow is a rest day, (luck for me as I'm going to Lord's tomorrow) As we have a lead of 565.

Had a 7 overs a side tournament today. I offered to miss out on a game I thought we'd easily win, but my captain asked me to play, so I played all 3 of our games. Really chuffed with my performance, and my team's. I got 16 in our first game (including an off-side four for the first time ever!! And I mean ever, my favourite shot is the pull. ;d) and went for 3 off my over, which wasn't too bad. We lost that game, but Mildenhall are pretty good. Second game was against a team that had pulled out of the league, so it was good to see some of them again. Came really close to getting a wicket, but went for two byes instead. One of our girls had never played a real game of cricket before, but she finished not out and got a wicket. And we did win this one, quite comfortably. Our last game started badly, but it got pretty bad for Cambridge as their opener top edged it into her face, above her nose. She wasn't wearing a helmet, so it wasn't a pleasant sight. Our bowler, who's 14, was distraught, but it really wasn't her fault. It's the third time I've seen someone been hit without wearing a helmet, so even though I'll be 18 in a couple of months, I'll still wear one! Anyway, I got the penultimate over (again), and only went for 1 run. But got two wickets and was on a hattrick. Good day all round. Love the Woodbridge tournament, it's a nice distraction from the league.

I played a really quick fire match today, over before I knew it. We got them all out for 47 and got the runs in about 7 and a half overs. I bowled 3 overs, all of which were maidens. So 3-3-0-0 The bat wasn't required!
