ROBBERS raided the home of Premier League footballer Darren Fletcher last night — hours after he flew to Italy with Manchester United.
The gang broke into £50,000-a-week Fletcher’s upmarket home around 9pm as he prepared for tonight’s crucial Champions League match with Inter Milan.
They threatened a woman at the house, then raided rooms and snatched valuables. The Old Trafford star, 25, is the latest in a long line of Premier League stars burgled by gangs while away playing football.
Victims Previous victims include Liverpool stars Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Pepe Reina, Daniel Agger and Peter Crouch, who has since left the club.
Fletcher lives at the house with girlfriend Hayley Grice and their twin boys.
It is not yet known if the woman threatened was Hayley or if weapons were used.
There were no reports of injuries in the raid on the home in Bowdon, Greater Manchester.
Scotland international midfielder Fletcher flew out to Italy yesterday with the Manchester United squad.
He is believed to be the first United player to fall victim to raiders who pounce during away games
