AC Milan have given their Brazilian superstar Kaka permission to talk to Manchester City, according to the 26-year-old's spokesman. City are thought to have made a bid in excess of £100m for the midfielder. Kaka's adviser Diogo Kotscho told the Associated Press that the player's father is likely to travel to England to speak to City in the near future. Kotscho added that a deal was not close, but also said Kaka has not already rejected the transfer. The director of the club's in-house TV channel, Mauro Suma, said that Milan were considering City's offer. But he added: "Considered does not mean decided or accepted. We are not faced with a decision made or a done deed." However, a Milan spokesman said Suma's comments were not an official statement by the Serie A club. Kaka deal is still alive - Hughes Earlier on Thursday City boss Mark Hughes says the club's big-money offer for Brazilian superstar Kaka makes football and business sense. Talks are ongoing between the clubs over what would be a world record transfer for the 26-year-old. "The money involved is something we feel, from a football and business point of view, works," said Hughes. "The process has moved forward at a pace this week but people shouldn't be thinking that it is just a whim." The sheer size of the figures involved in the proposed deal has made headlines around the world, but Hughes said it was all part of a considered plan from the club's hierarchy. "It's been done with structure and understanding," he said. "We're all very much involved in that process; myself from a football point of view and (chief executive) Garry Cook and (chairman) Khaldoon Al Mubarak from a club and business point of view. "It would be naive to think I have not been involved in discussions over this transfer. I have had meetings about it and have had an input." Earlier, City assistant manager Mark Bowen claimed that the record-breaking transfer was near to a resolution. "We believe the deal is very close," Bowen told BBC Sport Wales. "We are selling the future plans of the club to the player. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7830199.stm

I'll be very very surprised if Kaka went to Man City.
He is fiercely loyal player, and is very happy in Milan.

Surely MAn City realise that spending £100million on one player when they arein their current state is a waste of money? One player isn't going to change all the things that need changing to make them a success? Surely it would be better to spend £50mil on 3/4 players and improve the depth of the squad? Or am I just talking shit? ;D

Or am I just talking shit? ;D they've acually got alot of depth, so buying more players wouldn't be healthy. Man City need to organise their defence and bring to blend as a team better. Buying Kaka won't help doeitherof these things, but he's a big name and that'll attract publicity and more big name players; think chelsea post the russian money - top name players would join them, just because other big name player had....... ... oh yeah, he's a pretty good player too

I'm not sure who else they will be able to buy though - I know they have a lot of money but surely they can't just pay what they want for who they want?
Plus they won't be in Europe next season so they are going to struggle to get top top players coz they will be lured by European football won't they??

Why won't they be in Europe? they are already out of the FA Cup and I doubt they will make top 6 in the Prem this year. And I don't think they will win the UEFA cup either - I'm sure Kaka will have played some sort of Euro game for Milan this season so he'll be cup tied or whatever you call it won't he?
