if you saw the game tonight vs Villa you will know it wasnt a penalty, the ball hit the bar not Youngs hand. BUT how was that decision come by? The ref gave the pen then after being pressurised by the Villa players he went to the linesman who AFTER listening to the 4th official watching a reply reversed his decision and gave a goal kick. Obviously no one would admit the 4th official was involved but from watching the replay the ref stands beside the linesman for a long time whist the linesman has his hand to his ear listening to his earpiece. In football we do not allow TV evidence so the pen should have stood whether the decision was right or wrong.

maybe yes, but not at the moment.
We all know it wasnt a pen but it was how that decision was come by that is in question.

well you got to admit that was a pretty sweet goal by Kamil Zayatte. totally fooled the keeper. I'm just saying that at least Hull scored a goal, as Villa couldn't get it done on their own. & yes a poor decision by the ref & his crew, they need to take a pag eout of the Major League Baseball Umpires book. They're NEVER wrong EVER !!!

Happened at Derby earlier this season against Sheff Utd. Surely the correct procedure would be to consult the linesman before making a decision?

Don't get me started! Haven't seen the replays yet, but as far as I am aware i know it wasn't a penatly. *BUT*, surely the referee saw something to give it! If he wasn't sure, check with the lino first, *then* make a decision. It took the Villa players to surround the referee to pressure him into asking his linesman! What happened to this respect campaign where players aren't allowed to surround referees? Secondly, our first goal should have stood! Once again though, any player going near a goalkeeper, and it's a freekick! Dead pissed off about it all. Didn't deserve to lose at all. A draw would have been a fair result.

Think they were more cheated by the not giving of the goal they 'scored'. Nothing wrong with it!

The ref was wrong to give the pen but the decision should have stood because the linesman didnt see anything. we all know it wasnt a pen but it should have been given, after all plenty of wrong decisions are given during a game when TV isnt used

Blades & Villains both cheaters ;D *ahem* the penalty decision in the derby vs blades match was correct (ie no pen.) however THE SOFT FUCKING REF.(!!!!!!!!!) then allowed derby's second goal, a blatant hand ball, purely because the derby fans were whining about the penalty decision he got right! SO WHO WAS CHEATED!?!?!

this isnt an argument whether it was a pen or not Mort, we all know it wasnt, it is the use of the 4th official looking at a tv
