Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Colin Calderwood.
Forest, who have also parted company with coach David Kerslake, made the announcement following the 4-2 Boxing Day home defeat by Doncaster Rovers.
Forest have won just four times since winning promotion to League One in May and are still in the bottom three.
"We're grateful to Colin for his efforts over the last two-and-a-half years but we're in a results business," said chief executive Mark Arthur.
"It's imperative that the club stays in the Championship and we need to give ourselves every opportunity to do that."
Forest are currently one point adrift of safety in the Championship, in 22nd place.
Calderwood was appointed as Forest boss in the summer of 2006 after winning promotion from League Two with Northampton the previous season.

BILLY Davies is Nottingham Forest's number one choice to replace Colin Calderwood, the Evening Post understands.
The club are hoping to make an appointment in the next 24 hours, before the trip to relegation rivals Norwich.
And, while Alan Pardew, Alan Curbishly and Adrian Boothroyd remain potential candidates for the role, it is the former Derby manager Davies who tops the club's list.
It is understood Davies was initially approached more than a month ago, when the pressure began to build on Calderwood as Forest struggled to acclimatise to life in the Championship.
And, now the axe has fallen on the Scot, following last night's dour 4-2 home defeat at the hands of struggling Doncaster, Forest are likely to pursue fresh talks with the man who steered the Rams into the Premiership.

Strong words from the guy who loves jelly beans! As they should be, he's a negative manager and we don't need that! On another front this ref at Norwich is an absolute cock end.

Fook this is tense, Earnshaw should have won it but Garner scores a cracking own goal.
3 mins left.
THIS REF IS A JOKE!
