Just thought id have a bit of a go
its what forums are about
now i wasnt at the cardiff game, im from bristol so its rare i go 2 portman road.
But i WASNT at all confident before the game. After all, we've recorded back to back wins just the once all season !
was to be proved right too with us losing. Shame. Was hoping after we'd bounced back well after Bristol City, we'd maintain that and hopefully record another 3 points today.
Magilton stated that we didn't really get going, which is a shame. however, at home we're generally strong so we'll win more than we'll lose at Portman Road
only 5 points off the play offs, which is hardly a disaster with us probably having £££ to spend in Jan.
But with us having the money to spend in Jan lies my problem !
Last Jan Magilton signed 3 central mids ( okay, i rate all 3 in diff respects ) when the defence / LM / and striker positions were the problem !
now i know Magilton was the cheap option to appoint when we were £36 mill in debt. The fact that last season BEFORE he had money to spend, then after Jan we averaged less points per game is slightly worrying
also, he seems to love old boys,,,,northern irish players, and seems unable to lure others ( Jeffers / Nugent for a start )
it reminds me to Bristol City appointing Brian Tinnion as manager, after his long distinguished playing career. Similar to Jim
This may surprise u to know, that Jim is the 19th longest serving manager of the 92 clubs ! I applaud our board for not being like Southampton / Spurs over the years. Keeping faith is the way forwards....
BUT - with us being a club potentially on the up.... having a good backer, im not sure Magilton is ultimately the man to take us forward.
This isn't solely based on todays result, i just think another boss may be able to attract the players he wants to strive forwards.
Under Magilton, we've tended to be VERY strong at home but PRETTY DAMN poor away. Infact to highlight this !!!! Ive NOT seen us win ONE away game with Jim at the helm ! My last away wins were Saints 2-0, and Sheff Weds 1-0 under Joe Royle...
for my money a far far better boss !
I mean Jim HAS been mixed in the transfer dept
ie - Walters - what a buy !! Legwinski - superb at the start !
but Campo - so many Cms + Kevin Lisbie !¬?!?!
Also - this is aimed at the board - TICKET PRICES
£24 CHEAPEST to watch us at home is absolutely pathetic ! get the fans back in , lower them to £20 and our attendances will be over 20,000 a game again !!!!!!!
