we've lost two playoff finals to teams we were statistically superior too and who we'd not lost to during the normal course of the season, cav And we've also lost a play-off semi final.

That's nothing look at this:
Final Reading 3-4 Bolton AET - we led 2-0 at half time and missed a penalty. Final Reading 2-3 Walsall AET - again we led and lost! Semi Wolves 2-1 Reading - Not a bad result. Semi Reading 0-1 Wolves - But fucked it up at home.

We stand as much chance of winning the play-offs as water freezing in a 250 degree oven! The last time we won a meaningful final of anything was 1925 when we beat Cardiff City in the FA cup final. We are just not good at that sort of thing. It's embedded in our nature and infects all who play for us! I'm sorry but I'm not having this! Reading FC are the world's undisputed champions at fucking up playoffs! End of! We're not too bad in that sense...2 nil up vs the Blunts in 2003 with 45 to go, we lost 4-3! 2 nil up vs Yeovil last year with the home leg to play, lost 5-4 on aggregate! Never again.

That match against you at Bramall lane aged left me absolutely mentally shattered. It was one of rthe most gripping games of football I've ever been to. At 0-2 with about 35 minutes to go I thought we were dead and buried. But around 10 minutes later we are level. and I thought we'd go on to win comfortably as at that stage you were all over the place. However, towards the end it was you who could have won and only a fantastically timed tackle by Jagielka stopped you scoring. Then in the second half of extra time we went 4-2 up after Des Walker's owen goal, and I thought even we couldn't mess this one up. I should have known better as Robert page then also scored an own goal to make it 4-3 and one of the most tense closing 5 minutes to a match that I've ever experienced. In thye last moments you actually had a chance to level when I think Louis Jean had a free header. Fortunately for us it was straight at Kenny. Elated as I was, I actually felt very sorry for the Forest supporters. It was the type of game that would leave the losers inconsolable even though thyey had conributed to an epic game.

And we've also lost a play-off semi final. We even managed to get ourselves relegated in a play-off!! In fact we have played a total of 10 play off matches and managed only two victories, but only one of those was in normal time. 1988: Bristol City (A) Lost 0-1 Bristol City (H) Drew 1-1 Relegated 1997: Ipswich Town (H) Drew 1-1 Ipswich Town (A) Drew 2-2 AET (Went through on away goals rule) Crystal Palace (Final) Lost 0-1 1998: Sunderland (H) Won 2-1 Sunderland (A) Lost 0-2 2003: Nottingham Forest (A) Drew 1-1 Nottingham Forest (H) Won 4-3 AET Wolverhampton Wanderers (Final) Lost 0-3 So, we've been involved in 4 play offs and failed every time.

We were there once and for one brief lovely moment we were in the UEFA cup. Would you like me to tell you what that magical land is like? Was it full of loss and humiliation? Nope we beat Sporra Luxemberg 8-1 but lost to Kaizerslauten when Hirsty got sent off
