Hello Blades They haven't got any money. The Icelandic banks went bust. Unless you're going to put them out of business you're not going to get any money anytime soon. ......... then put them out of business, as I hate Danny Dyer and Green Street was shit!!

we are.... with a stack full of money ;D and an average championship team ;D Are we as good as that? At this point I'd like us to be as good as average! I really cannot fathom how on earth we are in the top six at the moment. Still, it's the table after 46 games that counts, and when that one is published I don't think you'll see us in the top 6.

Perhaps we could take over all their assets in lieu of money owed to us. Then we could move them to Bramall Lane, sell Upton Park, change their strip to red and white stripes, and allow them to compete in the premier league under a new name - Sheffield United! A corperate takeover and re-branding excercise ..... sounds great!!

and an average championship team ;D where are we in the league? It's the final league table that matters. We have a dreadful record against the higher placed teams in this division. We cannot win the games that really matter. To get promoted you have to be able to beat a few of the teams around you, or at least not give away any ground by losing to them. We have lost to both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading at home. And even though both of those sides concede quite generously away from home we scored a total of one goal against them. We also lost to Birmingham City away and failed to score. On the upside we drew at home with Cardiff City. Not a bad result by any means, but yet again (you guessed it) we failed to score. We also lost away to Sheffield Wednesday. Now I know that they are not a top six side at present, but this is very much a pressure fixture as far as both sides are concerned. Yet again we did not come up with the goods and did not score a goal. Added to this, we have not yet won any match in which the other side has scored first. In fact we have only managed to get a draw from one game in which we have fallen behind. This is not the stuff of which true promotion contenders are made.

i think its because we play in such a conservative manner... we need to be more expansive - maybe, i don't know, play PROPER wingers.... *fed up of seeing halford start instead of cotterill*

The Stoke, hull and WBA of last season wouldn't have been able to compete with the Wolves, Birmingham and Reading of this season.
the league was very poor last season.... we missed the boat.

I'm not so sure. West Bromwich Albion were a very good side last season. The only side I've seen this season that I think was better than them was Reading. Stoke play in a particular way. It's not easy on the eye, but it is effective because they have the right players to execute that style of play. I think they would cause anyone in this league problems except perhaps Reading. I think Reading on their day can out-football you no matter what style you adopt. After seeing them this season I'm wondering how on earth they managed to get themselves relegated. I'm not sure how Hull would shape up and my view is a bit coloured by our home match against them whewn we comprehensively outplayed them when we only had 10 men and played the entire second half with a 3 man midfield. They must have been better over the season than they looked in that game!

Well it's one way to get into the Premiership without actually being good. The other is via the play-offs!! We stand as much chance of winning the play-offs as water freezing in a 250 degree oven! The last time we won a meaningful final of anything was 1925 when we beat Cardiff City in the FA cup final. We are just not good at that sort of thing. It's embedded in our nature and infects all who play for us!

can the water be placed in a high durable and heat resistant freezer, within the oven

we've lost two playoff finals to teams we were statistically superior too and who we'd not lost to during the normal course of the season, cav
