Profit boost for Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday will announce a trading profit for the second successive year at next month's annual general meeting.
The Owls, who have debts of £27million, made a profit of £1.5million 12 months ago - their first in 12 years.
Finance director Bob Grierson, who confirmed details will be revealed in the annual accounts for the year ended May 31, said: "The accounts will be out over the weekend and will show another year's successful trading." ------------------------------------------------
Apparently is a £3.1 million profit.....
.... also you've supposedly got the best wages to profit (or was it turnover) ratio in the Championship....
.... now call me a cynic, but might that be down to your low quality and quantity of playing staff + the large debt that you're continuously paying off?

Correct Mort Id imagine the wages to turnoever ratio is down to at least 4 of the first team being previous youth team players who tend to get less than others. At least we are trading at a profit and knocking some of the debt off albeit not much. I believe the debt is down to 25 million now so at this rate only another 25 yrs of crappyness to go. I`ll nearly be a pensioner by then

unless an investor comes in to clear some or all of the debt, i think the financial stratagem Wednesday are following is the soundest possible....
... i'm assuming that strategy is slowly whittle away at the debt while maintaining themselves in the championship.

I think that's the plan Morts. If we can maintain midtable mediocrity on the finances we have I think it's seen as progress. I think if we can get rid of the last few highly paid 'stars' like Kenny Lunt who's on £10k a week for not appearing in the squad then it should help. Unfortunately due to these factors the crowds are going down and therefore so do the gate receipts. I'd be suprised if there are 15,000 there on Saturday.

He was obviously just very proud of it Tom. Showing it off like a monkey! ;D I remember a school trip to France when I was 15. These rat like little kids kept running up to me and my mates trying to get us to buy these little plastic monkeys whose cocks popped out when you squeezed them. The police turned up one time though, they scattered in 2 seconds flat
