A wet and windy day at Portman Road ended in "supersub" Stead bagging two goals and winning us the match!
First half was a soggy and sorry affair, Kevin Lisbie was poor and Quinn wasn't having a good game either. Richard Wright made a fantastic save, which kept us in the match. QPR's number 7's (Parejo or something) play acting and diving was disgraceful - and it caused a bit of a stir before half time, as even the South Stand joined in booing.
Second half, started much in the same way, Quinn was replaced by Counago. Garvan switched over to the left, Walters to the right, Norris and Shumi in the middle. Still didn't have the strength upfront, Lisbie's passing was poor, and he didn't even look close to getting a goal. Compared to Walters, his effort was also very poor. When he came off (finally), Stead came on, and five minutes later, we had the lead. Couple of minutes later, we doubled it. From a corner, of all things!
First half wasn't so great, and there was a worry it was going to be another Charlton... However, very pleased with the second half, we passed QPR off the field. Garvan impressed out on the left, Shumi played well, and having Norris back was great. We missed him on Tuesday. Naylor played better, Volzy did alright, McAuley's doing OK now. Both the Wrights had decent games. Definately deserved the clean sheet! Counago's shooting wasn't brilliant - blasting it over the bar a couple of times. And Stead came so close to a hat-trick. A fantastic free-kick hit the post!
8th in the table, and a goal difference of +7! Let's just hope we can actually build from this...
