My days of rocking back and forth caressing a cricket bat in the corner are over. Cricket's on, somewhere in the world! ;d
After the heated series back in January, this is a series to very much look forward to!
Tendulkar is looking to break Lara's record of career runs, which he's 76 runs shy of.
The first Test started yesterday, Hayden lost to a first ball duck with a questionable decision. Ponting scored his first century in India, and today Hussey scored 146. Australia were bowled out for 430, and at the moment India are 68-0.
Should be a good series, hopefully there'll be less controversy this time...

When are India going to allow some of their younger players a chance. Same middle order. Sachin is tailing off it would appear but he did have a purple patch a few months ago. No Kaif or Yuvraj still. And Kumble looks past it too. Maybe give Chawla a chance. On the Aussie side tried & trusted. Johnson looks a decent prospect but who will fill Warnes role ? Great innings from Hussey & with a wearing pitch the Aussies must be favourites. Ishant Sharma still only twenty looks capable of becoming a top class strike bowler. Sad thing is the BCCI. They apparently are trying to charge extortionate fees for the coverage from newspapers leading to a Reuters boycott as happenend in Oz last year. Similar along the lines of the IPLs media control. blogs.cricinfo.com/surfer/archives/2008/04/media_boycott_i.phpShame the sports bodies are intent on mining every last cent ,penny & rupee they can out of sport to the detriment of the game. Take for instance the IOC removing all youtube videos or as many as they can .Most of the uploaders are in nations where the state broadcaster has freeview rights for which they paid for & unless the IOC are intent on making Olympics DVDs (and who would buy the with HDD recorders) whats in it for them ? Or the British Racehorsing Board demanding papers pay for putting in meeting cards in their sports sections. Seems to me a lot of sports are cutting off their noses to spite their face.

Well done to Sachin, who passed Brian Lara's test scoring runs record of all time.

Maybe now this milestone is gone he can regain his old form & strokeplay.
My favourite batsman when in full flow.
Good start from strike pair Khan Sharma. Oz in a bit of trouble early on on a good batting surface as is usual at Mohali. Beautiful stadium on the outskirts of Chandigarh.
Meantime Bangladesh have NZ in all sorts of trouble at Chittagong. Could be their first test win against the Blackcaps who are looking shockingly poor aside from Vettori as per usual fighting to the end.
Ireland with some of their World Cup regulars back and some new faces ie Gary Wilson Surrey look to have the beating of Kenya having set 285-6 in their 50 overs.
Would be nice to see Ireland & Kenya get more regular competition & if things resolve themselves in Zimbabwe with the evil tyrant & his cronies dying perhaps they can get some of their former players back ie Sean Ervine & progress.

Another bore draw reminiscent of past India series in the 70s and 80s when bowlers had to exert Sisyphan efforts to claim a wicket. Very very special Laxman must wish he could bat every series only against Oz. He has one of the best batting records against them of any player and that inc.the time when McGrath and Warne were in the attack. The other major news is that Anil Kumble that bespectacled master f flight has hung up his cricket shoes. He has claimed 619 wickets behind Warne and the chucker Murali and is of course the only other man to take 10 wickets in one innings against the arch enemy Pakistan. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8jxSK-9HSlkAn intelligent man(degree in aeronautical engineering) and studious student of the game he is an Indian legend whose career spanned 18 years. He will be missed of course but the younger generation Mishra, Chawla et al need to be given their chance. Well done son. Some articles on a great bowler and gentleman of the game. content-uk.cricinfo.com/india/content/current/story/329216.htmlcontent-uk.cricinfo.com/magazine/content/current/story/229949.html

India win the series 2-0 after bowling the Aussies out for 209, therefore winning by 172 runs.
