Antti Niemi has retired from football after a wrist injury forced him out for two months, when he was planning to quit at the end of the season. What a great goalkeeper he was. I remember he went up for a corner against Fulham and hit a stinging volley against the bar and Michael Svensson headed home the rebound - 3.13 also that quality triple save against Patrick Viera - 1.36

I'm really sad seeing this as he was such a great keeper and my idol when I was younger. Met him on several occasions (as he was always MOTM) and he was such a nice bloke too. He had superb reactions and positioning that I am very surprised that he only managed to play for Saints and Fulham as he was certainly good enough to play for one of the very top clubs. Legend.

He had some serious practise in front of that Saints defence... real shame though.
