just got back from Leeds Fest hour ago,
Weather was dire on wednesday night but its was fine afterwards, paths were treacherous for the next 48 hours. wasnt too bothered about Slipknot pulling out but here are bands i went to see; Dropkick Murphys - Only heard a few songs before the festival but were thoroughly entertaining 9/10 Avenged Sevenfold - Only player for 20 minutes cos 3 members including the singer M. Shadows were suffering from flu, but the 4 songs they did were awesome - 9/10 (lost a point due to the shortness) Tenacious D - Entertaining from start to finish, loved 'em, 9/10 Metallica - Was in the pit for these boys and crowd surfed out after 20 minutes, again superb! 9/10 Dizzee Rascal - OMG what do people see in this joker! terrible! 3/10 Goldfinger - Joint 2nd best band there in my opinion, got the crowd going and played some awesome songs! 9.5/10 Anti-Flag - Hadnt heard anything of this band beforehand, and also starting off the set with a cover doesnt help, did enjoy them though - 7.5/10 Less Than Jake - AWESOME!!!!!!! need i say more. without a doubt the best band i saw! - 10/10 Rage Against The Machine - Never been the biggest fan but wow i did enjoy them - 9/10 MxPx - Disappointed to have missed the beginning but they played some of their great songs! - 8.5/10 due to missing beginning though thats not their fault Thrice - Didnt know anything about these guys so i didnt expect much, they didnt do much in the way of getting the crowd going but they had some decent riffs - 7/10 Alkaline Trio - Tied with Goldfinger in my eyes, dont know many songs but they were great, the fans were well up for them - 9.5
met some cool people, drank my weight in alcohol, laughed, joked, stayed up til all hours, typical festival stuff.........though after a few unsavoury jokes me and my friends may well be going to hell.
would love to go again!!!

quality weekend. was right at the front for the killers and that was amazing.
sadly, late into last night i was sitting round the fire and someone put some plastic bottle on the fire and it sort of popped and i happened to be the poor bugger it hit. luckily only got me on my hand but its apparently a really bad burn - spent all of today in a specialist burns hospital. apparently could be serious perm damage. wonderful. i do apolgise about my typing...not easy with one hand!
other than that it was an amazing weekend.

Only went to the Leeds Fest on the Saturday and was hardly overwhelmed by the bill. Praise be then for Vampire Weekend on the NME Stage, they were fantastic!!!
