Thought we did alright today, nice headed goal by Perry... yes we scored from a corner. Should have gone 2-0 up with Stern missing a header - we would have gone on to win for sure if he had, but they went down the other end and scored twice - poor defending and gash that Kevin Phillips of all people scored the winner. we lost, but for the most part we outplayed them - it's nice to see our youngsters putting in real hardworking shifts - better than the lazy journeymen i'm used to seeing in this division. Morgan Schneiderlin dominating in defensive midfield, this guy is class. Just a shame JP didn't think to put a striker on the bench to chase the game... Can't wait 'till this month ends and we can maybe play some of our players that are being frozen out cos they are 'for sale' (that won't get sold because they are shit - i.e Skacel, Euell, Thomas). although they are shite, we could do with Thomas in defence as cover for Killer - especially as Davies is going to stoke ( ) and Skacel and Euell with a bit more quality in the final third. Twas amusing hearing the brummies singing 'lets all have a disco' but they're retarded and brummy so they sang it as 'lits all have a deeesco' lolism.

Sorry, boring but I'm fascinated - has Wotton been playing? Unused sub today but has he figured much otherwise?

He played in the cup against Exeter and got two assists, but I don't think JP was happy that he was continuously 'hoofing' the ball clear. Poortvliet and his 'total football' system favours young players who can pass, so I expect Wotton will be used as back-up for when either Schneiderlin or Gillett run their young legs into the ground. We do play with two defensive midfielders though, so he should get more than a handful of games. We are very short at centre back, as we are selling Davies and Svensson is only half fit - Wotton played the first half against Exeter in DM, but moved to CB in the second half. Did he play CB alot for Plymouth, as he seems to be mentioned mainly as a defensive midfielder...

Wotton started as a Centre Back and moved forward under Sturrock first time round. He was a reasonable lower league defender but had more success as a Defensive Midfielder. He played really well in League 1 there.
Wotton has worked his way to success. Nobody deserves his second career chance more as his attitude elevated him way beyond his abilities. At times he can be quite cultured but he has a tendency to lack composure under pressure and I think it is fair to say that the word "hoof" has featured pretty prominently throughout his career! I laughed when I read it. I do wish him well though - you won't find a more honest footballer.

Good stuff, we could definitely do with the experience in our squad. I'll keep you greens updated on how he does throughout the season.

Do. I won't be there for the December game as I'm away for Christmas but I'd be furious if he didn't get a fantastic reception at Home Park.

A better reception than he recieved from the Exeter fans anyway ;D. We always seem to play your lot away near xmas... our last three visits to Home Park have all been in January I think and now December this season, it's becoming tradition - hopefully we'll break it slightly in terms of coming away with the three points though

I can only apologise for the attitude of my fellow cityfolk. They lack a cultured sense of football and carry chips on their shoulders that only McCain could compete with...

And I've a horrible feeling three points at HP may not be too difficult this year
