This place is quiet today so I'll start a fairly unexciting thread because anything is better than nothing.
I want to start my own business or at least put my portfolio on the Internet and make it look professional. Everyone who does photography seriously has at least some web space that hosts his or her work. Somewhere where people (clients for example) can be referred. Successful photographers also sell photographs from their web site.
Problem is I don't know much about creating web sites and could do with any help I can get. I want to do it quite cheap, I want to have reasonable amount of features and I want it to look professional.
Would any of you be able to give me any advice, do any of you have your own personal web sites or one for your own business?
Thanks.

In all seriousness fella, my brother (Paul) does do that for a living he maybe able to help. His contact details are on the website. As a related point; while it's not the most professional site ever, I know lots of professional artists/photographers use Deviantart to host their pictures - and if you give them a link to your gallery, it provides a more than reasonable look at your portfolio. Might be worthwhile at least as a temporary set-up, if nothing else: www.deviantart.com

They're nothing fantastic, but my gallery is here: cloud-1-3-5.deviantart.com/gallery/There's a couple of ancient drawings on there (they're at least 5 years old) that're so-so, one website banner (that flickers, for some reason ), and the seven pics that I uploaded last night.

I like that Frosted Fingers one Neko That's one of my favourites too - that and the two sky ones. Like the description says, I swear it looks intentional!

Very good neko, funky even. Thank ye squire Anyway, like I said, I reckon that's a worthwhile site for you to put your pictures on at least temporarily - and you can sell prints of your photos through them too, if you so desire!
