Just watched the closing ceremony and the programme from the Mall for the handover and to be honest it makes you proud to be British really. Everyone in the team, medal winners or not, did the country proud. Well done guys and girls! Its not just the athletes though - its also down to all those behind the scenes as well.
I found out that my colleagues hubby has been out as he's a coach for one of the athletes - the things you find out at work eh!?
Bring on 2012!!!

Enjoyed the ceremony and was pleasantly surprised by the British set. The event was tarnished for me, I'm afraid, by the unpleasant sight of Boris Johnson and the inane babble of the BBC commentary team who couldn't just shut up and let us watch it for ourselves...

Did you hear Boris' speech at London House in Beijing? And Gordon Brown too for that matter...that for me was worse (although I agree - the never-ending babble from the beeb over the closing ceremony in general was more than a little annoying).
I just cringe whenever Boris steps up to a microphone...and he didn't disappoint tonight...

Ping Pong is coming home? And Gordon Brown is trying so hard it is painful to watch. Boris Johnson, Seb Coe, Gordon Brown and Beckham on parade as representatives of British personality...

It was rather painful viewing... ;D Bettered on the pain stakes only by the sight of the blonde buffoon trying to wave a flag. He clearly needed a drink...

And a decent tailor...the other two representatives at the flag hand-over ceremony looked immaculate...Boris looked like a school prefect who couldn't be arsed to set an example.

Agreed, I didn't like the commentary, but loved the music, so just couldn't bring myself to mute it! Huw Edwards was useless. And the sight of Boris Johnson attempting to wave the flag was cringing to say the least...! I did quite like the British set. That bus was really cool! Roll on 2012, I don't care what event I see, I just want to be there!

Nice one Lucas, funny as you like! ;D *they're right about the weather though * Brilliant video ;D And Imp, with regards to the weather, just take the interview with Michael Phelps when asked what he thought of it. "It's just water. I spend most of my time in the stuff" ;D
