Hmmm... where to start.
To be honest its been a shambles. Mixed squads dithering over the formation & no doubt some loanees to be introduced(fingers crossed) to further disrupt the team during August & September,
With defeats to franchise FC & struggles against local teams such as Borehamwood & St.Albans it does not bode well at all.
However there have been some bright lights. Loach has done well in goal & Williams has shown his passing ability.
The doubts are a paper thin defence. Sadler has been skinned by lower league players on a regular basis & Bromby has looked far from confident.
Upfront there has been a paucity of goals. Priskin has become our new scapegoat.
Why ? We have a select band of morons who believe in neanderthal football ie lump it up sir & run after it. Priskin has shown again with the ball at feet he is dangerous setting up a couple of goals & at least has been in the right place at the right time.
He could do with an attitude change though because at times he resembles Berbatov lazing on the pitch.
The other glimmer of light has been the youth players. Lewis Young has done well as has Liam Henderson. Theo Robinson has genuine pace but needs to improve his first touch.
Younger lights inc.Ross Jenkins destined to become a midfield general when he fills out, young Luke Hodson has great ability down the flank & Billy Gibson(a name to cnjure a past era) is very promising down the left.
Downturns. Ainsworth has been absolutely appalling along with Bangura. The latter should be released anyway after lying to the fans like most illegal immigrants & he cannot pass water.
Young Bennett has done well at times but all lack experience & it would be better to introduce one or two at a time rather than wholesale.
However as in 2006 we were marked as underdogs & yet we acheived promotion .Hunger & desire will count a lot I feel.
