It wouldn't surprise me, they have had financial problems since the collapse of ITV Digital haven't they? Promotion to the Prem probably only alleviated that.
That's not a wind up so if any Hornet fans think my facts are wrong I am happy to stand corrected

I think they gambled on going straight back up, but failed! I'd happily take DeMerit or Shittu at Derby thanks very much. My starting bid is £2.50 for the pair!  |

I think they gambled on going straight back up, but failed! Pretty much correct. Though it seems there are other factors in this that have contributed to the seemingly dire financial state we are now in. GT - you are correct in so far as the collapse of ITV digital did screw us (and quite a few others over), however, we managed to become solvent through player sales/promotion and the like. To see us go full circle is very disheartening. |

When you consider the state of the Blades financially being able to sign players & not being in the mess we are in questions need to be asked. Yes we have a huge wage bill from the time in the Premiership, a host of horrific signings bought but nonetheless when you consider the revenue streams from the Premiership ,parachute payments, selling the corners of the ground & sales of players there is still a mystery over why we are desperate to pay off a £6M loan tothe bank. None of this has been satisfactorily explained. Money has been wasted on acquiring the Red Lion pub & nothing has been done since whilst the planned ground redevelopments are stalled. Stalin Ashton & Hitler Simpson award themselves payrises as do the directors for no reason at all. We are back in the same situation as under Vialli. So much for the safe financial approach promised by Simpson. And all this secrecy has done nothing to help. Clubs know we are in a precarious state hence the low transfer fees for Shittu & Henderson. AB has done nothing to help by signing players like Jackson who has been awarded a nice payoff .Thats how many punds a game for six matches played & the likes of Poom ? Its a shambles & with all the unrest off the field it does not make good reading for events on the field. GS pretends he has the clubs best interests at heart which ius why he did not invite Mittal on the board ? Why he is prevaricating over the offer the Russos have made to buy the club ? He has turned out to be a supreme wanker.  |
