Irrespective of the High Court decision (after today's delay due on 19th September) should he compete for Team GB at the Olympics?
I personally think that any cheat - especially performance enhancing drug cheats shoud be banned for life!
OR - let's not bother about drug testing full stop. Make it clear that these 'professionals' (Olympics I thought was for amateur sports people) can take whatever substances they want.
At least it guarantees a level playing field for all entrants, saves tons of cash without the need for drug testing and bottles of piss clogging up storage space.
Winner of the Men's 100m = man with biggest tits!

In most walks of life, I say that people should be allowed a second chance. In this case, however, Chambers knew the conditions and the penalty well before he took the drugs, so he shouldn't have a leg to stand on. Being refused permission to run at the Olympics isn't a restraint of trade as he's claiming, because it's one event every four years. Every other contest, he's still legible for.
That's the 'professional' side of things, anyway. On a personal note, I think a drug cheat in any sport should just be booted out of it - they've made it quite clear they don't appreciate what sport is about, they don't have any regard for the rules or the concept of fair play, so fuck 'um.

But he's served his ban. He's technically allowed to race again so he's only doing what he's allowed to do within the constraints. He didn't make the rules so why villify him?
I agree though that it should be a lifetime ban for any drug cheat but as he's served his time. Let him race.

I agree though that it should be a lifetime ban for any drug cheat but as he's served his time. Let him race. He was warned right from the outset that anyone caught taking drugs is subject to a two-year ban from all athletics events, plus a lifetime ban from the Olympics. He knew the situation, and took the risk - there's only himself to blame. He's lost the court case though! ;D news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/athletics/7503792.stm

One of his claims to get the ban lifted was that youngsters look up to him. All the more reason to ban him i reckon. What message does drug abuse and cheating send out to kids?

Its a tough one. Can sport be free from drugs? NOPE. Look at Carl Lewis, one of the biggest athletes from the Olympics and he has supposedly been taking drugs over 2 decades but because of his iconic status not much is said.
I think if you can 100% prove that all athletes at the finish line are/are not taking drugs then he should be allowed to run. He is currently not on drugs, or at least what we know about and he is the fastest GB 100m sprinter. I guess now it comes down to..do we send someone whom we know is slower but hasnt been caught taking drugs. Just because the slower athletes havent been caught. Does it mean that they havent taken them? I dont think you will ever have that guarantee. In that respect the drug cheats have tainted the Olympics.
Just look at the Tour de France. Is that really a sport now with all the failed drugs tests? Even if you dont take drugs everyone is doubting whether you have won it off your own back. Hasnt Lance Armstrong had strong accusations pointed in his direction?

The French accused him five times, but never actually proved anything on any of those occasions. If he had been taking them, I'm sure some evidence would have arisen over those years.
