At long last after a protracted passport dispute Lazios mad chairman has got his man. The best keeper to come out of Argentine for thirty years & who was the main reason for Rivers Clausura win signed for Lazio this week. Heres a selection of his work. He still needs to cut down on his rash Grobelaar excursions & handling but is a Casillas class keeper. I'm sure Officer Groyman would appreciate his dribbling skills ! www.youtube.com/watch?

Villareal are assembling what almost amounts to an entire Argentine/ South American team combined with veteran Senna & youngster Cazorla & some very talented Uruguayans in Diego Godin & Sebastian Eguren. Latest recruits inc.Ariel Ibagaza of Mallorca as that squad is slowly dismantled. Villareal coached by Argentine owl Pellegrini have also hooked up with River Plate to have first options on several youngsters inc.Cristian Villagra & Augusto Fernandez. The latest recruit is Damian Escudero from Velez Sarsfield a left sided attacking midfielder blessed with great close control & explosive pace. The man nicknamed Pichi can also play at left back & has been used by the Argentine NT in such a role & is a contender for the 2010 squad having missed most of the u20 WC with injury. Heres a compilation: www.youtube.com/watch?

How Coco continues to favour Pato is a mystery I can't and never will work out. Looks like my favourite player, Rodrigo Palacio, could also be on the move to Lazio. Certainly wouldn't be before time. Awesome player.

Yet another of Pellegrinis signings for Villareal & the man cast in the Riquleme mould & already called up to the national team as a future replacement. He helped Lanus win the Apertura in 2007 & has a gift for finding a pass as well as being a very good set piece taker & goalscorer. Faster than JRR & more often seen in the box , he has a great future ahead of hm & will be a central cog in the Yellow Submarines CL plans. www.youtube.com/watch?

Franco di Santo. This 6'4" striker took an unusual route to Europe. Not through the Apertura/Clausura but through the Chilean Primera playing for Audax Italiano. It was his performance in 2007/8 Copa Libertadores that brought him to the attention of European scouts but which was not sufficient for him to make the winning Argentina u20 World Cup squad of 2007. Despite this Chelsea tempted the talented striker & he has already made an impact with the reserves & on the pre-season tour. He combines a great first touch with a powerful accurate shot from both feet & an ability to find his strike partner when required. A candidate for Argentinas number 9 spot as he fills out & gets more physical upper body strength to compete with Denis & Cavenaghi. Watch the second goal, his first against Guangzhou: www.youtube.com/watch?

Still holding some hope Di Santo comes to us on loan! He must be fed up of reserve football with Chelski!
