Quite possibly the biggest transfer rumour of the new season so far?
According to the Daily Mail, Ipswich are in talks with Nuremburg with regards for the striker for 2.5 Million GBP. Nuremburg were relegated last year from the Bundesliga, so they will be wanting to shift off the high wages from their bill. He has stated in the past that he wants to play in England.
And for those who don't remember, he's the guy that scored the winning goal for Greece against Portugal in Euro 2004

He was a pile of shit in Euro 2008, would still be quite a coup though.

Maybe, but still probably the best player for Greece in the tournament

Yep.. I wouldn't be suprised if he went to Stoke or Hull or someone like that.
He'd get alot of goals in the championship i'd imagine.

The commentators were slagging him off every time he got the ball in the first two games, he missed easy chance after chance... and as for being one of the goals of the tournament, I cannot see how a free header can even be close to one of the goals of the tournament!

I insist.
Although the header came from a free kick it was not free. He had to run to meet it and turned his head up in the air to thunder it in. He scored a similar goal against France in the last Euro.
But if you do not like him, do not worry. He will not join. I ve heard he is staying with FCN in Germany.
Bye now.

not really a huge fan alright player, but always sceptical about a player that will be a top earner with a big tag coming to play in the championship
