Skysports.com understands Nathan Tyson has turned down a new deal at Nottingham Forest.
Forest were keen to tie down Tyson to a new long-term contract to ward off interest from potential suitors.
Tyson has only one-year to run on his current contract and Forest were offering a two-year extension to prolong his stay at the City Ground.
However, the 26-year-old has rejected the club's offer and is weighing up his options at the Championship new boys.
Bristol City and Norwich are believed to be tracking the former Wycombe Wanderers ace with City having a bid turned down for the striker.
The news that Tyson has turned down the offer of a new deal could see City make a new bid for the player as they look to lure him to Ashton Gate.
Forest are determined to keep hold of Tyson having already lost Kris Commons, Junior Agogo and Sammy Clingan this summer.
