In my opinion if ratified will be the saviour of the national game. Personally, I'd prefer a 7 - 4 Rule but Sepp Blatter's current plans are a great start.
And as for it contavening European Employment / Freedom of Movement etc. legislation....that's absolute bollocks.
My interpretation is to restict the number of non national (home grown) players on the pitch or in the match day squad to 5. How does that contavene EU Laws.....
There's nowt stopping the Man U's, Chelsea's, Arsenal's, Real Madrids or Inter's forking out 10s of millions of pounds for all the world's best players and paying them exorbitant weeky wages..it's just that they can't play more than five of the fuckers in a single match.
So under EU Employment Laws these players (still being payed weekly / monthly wage) have to accept sitting out a few games each season without the guarantee of a staring place (nor even a place in the squad).
And if 'johnny foreigner' wants to kick up a stink - why the fuck haven't all the young home grown players (especially at Arsenal) already taken legal action under EU Employment Laws cos they can't get into match day squads due to the numbers of non home grown players.
Young home grown players still benefit from training week in week out with these players but at least get a sniff of first team action .
TV revenue (which is the crux of the matter) remains pretty much the same as this law will be worldwide; England get a bigger pool of potential international players to choose from and maybe....just maybe... domestic honours could be more evenly shared other than between the current 'big 4' and an even bigger maybe is that market prices reduces player values and that clubs might even lower turnstile prices to increase attendances (and marketing potential).
Just my thoughts - any comments fellas?
