I don't understand what they did to warrant an extra 5 points - wasn't it the same circumstances as Leeds?

It's an utter scandal!! Does anyone really think that clubs guilty of similar offences to Luton (or Leeds) would've been dealt with so harshly if they were in the Premier League? Makes you wonder what West Ham's punishment would've been had they been outside the top flight.

Will Neko run a sweepstake on when they'll overhaul the deducted points? ;D Leeds got minus 15 points for not exiting administration via a CVA, which is what 2020 are about to do, so I'd imagine they'd be starting on -25 points before a ball is even kicked Don't think they'll be relegated but Promotion is def out the window! Wasn't far off! -30 points docked Feel for the fans & the players, it is very harsh on them. Going to be a long while before we play each other in the league for sure. Hope to get them in the FA Cup as I can't see them beating Plymouth in the League Cup! Rotherham & Bournmouth both face at least a -15 point deduction too.

Good Luck Neko and to Luton ---"30 points to go till you get to zero!!" hope they do it and prove that these penalties are unjust and unfair to the fans as well as the clubs!!
Would like to see just how some of these top clubs would manage with a similar penalty!!
Hopefully like with us last season it will galvanise the team !!

The one upside of this, I guess, is that we're hardly likely to end up with any players looking for an easy ride this season, unlike Blackwell's mercs...

Gotta say 'the powers that be' have got their heads up their collective arses.
On one hand they're moaning about the state of grass roots - domestic football, too much money going to the PL and massively inflated salaries with the top sides only purchasing cheap foreign imports (as the only way for lower league clubs to minimise losses is to sell young home-developed "English" talent which the PL ignore as a million or two is deemed too much [not attractive enough for TV audiences more like].
If the Football League keep penalising teams as they are doing for minor infringments of their Rules they won't have a fucking league to administer in 3 to 5 years time.
Mind you - in current financial climate - impending economic recession, rising inflation and unemployment and basic costs of living I reckon all forms of sports will be effected with dwindling spectator numbers paying at the turnstiles.
Maybe even the PL will feel the pinch - with current Sky subscribers thinking "£40+ a month to watch Sports (and I follow say Scunthorpe United who might get 1 live fixture a year) - fuck that - and they cancel subscription (opting for Freeview instead) so as to be able to half fill their tank with petrol instead".
Would laugh my arse off if that eventually happened and suddenly the TV cash dried up for the Premiership.

As pointed out by the head of Luton 2010 on Talksport last night it has actually been 40 points in total. The guy was very accepting, dignified and optimistic in the situation though, which is refreshing and deserving of praise. Good luck Luton

Good luck Luton 2020 have been nothing short of fantastic throughout the entire admin process, and I really hope it continues that way. I have no doubt they'll give Mick Harford all the backing they physically can, and possibly a little more besides (though not too much; we've hopefully learnt that one now!). Just wish the same could be said of the FL and FA - given that we blew the whistle on the bungs ourselves, the previous board was responsible for the administration etc, I had been hoping for at least a little consideration of the circumstances, but instead we've just been slapped even harder throughout. Just goes to show, kids. Much as they talk about wanting honesty in football, it'll just get you deeper in the shit. If you suspect wrongdoing, just cover your ears, turn around and walk away singing very loudly - the FA prefer it that way.

It's interesting to note that there were two then-Premiership clubs found to have committed exactly the same errors as us re: agents (we didn't actually pay bungs, the money just went through the wrong channels) at around the same time - how long is it 'til they get charged, do we think? (Birmingham and Newcastle, since you ask)

And will never change - nore listen to reason or logic! Not that it would happen - but I'd love the British Government to finally accept that being part of the EU does nothing but stifle the UK. Gordon Brown to stand up and look the Parliament in the eye (good job cos he's only got one) and tell France, Brussels et al to "FUCK OFF" (bear in the Swiss ain't doing too badly whilst not being part of the EU). At that point we can ignore EU Legislation! Our workers can work as long as they like - we can fuck over-rated / over paid EU players off without fear of EU Law. Terrorists can be held as long as we sodding like without charge, and sicko murderers and paedos can be held in shit-holes knowing they can't appeal against 40 year sentences or anything else about their prison treatment under Human Rights legislation. The list is endless in how Eu 'holds back the UK' - fuck 'em off. And if the French or Italians get a bit arsey we can always nail the fuckers with our nuclear arsenal! ;D

I don't remember whining... Frankly, I was indifferent to the whole thing, as my team had their own problems! Not sure how that's biting Luton in the arse either - the two events are completely unrelated; the post was merely highlighting the inconsistencies in their judgements...

let me have my moment ;D it does seem very unfair and that these point deducts are now deviating from the purpose they were intended, ie to prevent teams gaining an advance by going into bankruptcy
