How sad... Nah, really though... I don't think we'll be playing each other for a while These deductions are so arbitrary. The Football League should be helping its members not killing them off. Actually I dont think it may be long before we end up like Luton & playing them in League 1 . Or so a lady called Lachesis told me.

Well it seems it had to happen..... what about the CVA though, could make the deduction up to -25 points for the new season, seems ridiculous but it would show that the FL don't have one rule for Leeds and another for everyone else. It's all ridculous though, and I really feel sorry for the fans of Luton Town. This kind of shit is ruining football, stop punishing fans, first Leeds, now Luton. When will it stop. not until they've wiped out all football clubs that begin with L! Well you got away with it...

Article on the BBC site by Nick Owen, one of our future owners: news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/luton_town/7438024.stmSums it up pretty well, I think. Yeah, there was wrong-doing, but no-one at the club now was responsible, it was only a technicality and it gave us no real advantage on the pitch. Nice to see that Jayten were so considerate about the club's fortunes too I really do feel for 2020 here, though - yes, it must have been in the backs of their minds that this was a possibility, but realistically, who would've thought it'd be this harsh?

I think it's harsh. A whistleblower from within the club alerted authorities of wrongdoings, that should've counted for something. The fact is was a crooked former who has nothing to do with the club should have counted as well. That it's possible another 15 points could also be deducted should have counted as well. End of the day, there should have been a slap on the wrist or a suspended sentence

End of the day, there should have been a slap on the wrist or a suspended sentence The only sentiment I'd disagree with there is the 'possibly 15 more points' bit - after all, if someone were in court, if they were standing trial in another case at the same time, it'd probably count against them, if anything. Either way, I think that shouldn't be a factor - each offence should be looked at on its own as far as punishment's concerned, unless it's a repeat offence. A suspended sentence would've been fairest, I think - give the new owners a chance to prove their honesty and all that, and if they mess up, then hit them with the full weight of the law. Even as a fan who'd be affected if that did happen, I can't say as there's fairer than that.

Luton Town Football Club has had imposed upon it, in respect of 15 charges of misconduct, an overall sanction of a £50,000 fine along with a deduction of 10 points to be operative in the 2008/09 season. www.lutontown.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10372~1323675,00.html Eek chump change & only 10 pts. - should be easy easy easy to dig themselves out of that mess!!! ;D
