Indeed but the 51% consider it fair to impose their rule even thought their margin is very slight.

Democracy's the best of a bad bunch. I'd prefer 51% told 49% what to do, rather than 1 man telling 100% what to do!
Of course, if there's a better solution out there, I'm willing to listen and consider it!

If all 100% had involvement in the process the 51% could consider it fair, but the reality is because of apathy, corruption of the process, in our democracy often less than 10% can bully the 90% in fact I have seen far worse.

Ivorgreen - if 99% don't choose to involve themselves, then it's their own damned fault when they wake up under rulers chosen by 1%

If common people up North have no interest in the governing of the country and contributing to the economy...................then tough when the educated hard working southerners run the show!

Ivorgreen - if 99% don't choose to involve themselves, then it's their own damned fault when they wake up under rulers chosen by 1% Very true. As far as I'm concerned, if you don't vote when you have the chance then you have no basis on which to complain when things don't go the way you hoped. If you and everyone else who sat out had bothered exercising your right to vote, then things could've been very different.

The Duke of Cambridge is actually a very nice cocktail bar in Oxford, if anyone is ever popping through. Seeing as we grow old and curmudgeonly (speak for myself?!) I suggest visiting outside term though....!
