Premiership
So its time for the 2006/2007 FA Barclaycard Premier League season to kick off again.
Chelsea are firm favorites for the title, making it three in a row. Huge signings such as Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack (arguably two of the best players in the world) Will only back up Chelseas desire to win the Premier League once again..not to mention the Champions League. They are being constantly linked with Ashley Cole and the next few days will be crucial as to whether the move will go ahead.
Manchester United remain Chelseas closest rivals and the rumoured 18 million splashed out on Carrick is their only major summer signing so far. Bayern Munichs' England Midfielder Owen Hargreaves has expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford and its looking hopeful with Sir Alex set to make a bid of upto 13 Million Pounds.
Arsenal had a huge lift at the end of last season after the much speculated future of Henry came to an end as he signed a new deal. Arsenal captured the highly rated Tomas Rosicky from Borussia Dortmund for an estimated sum of 6 million. Jose Antonio Reyes looks like he will be on his way to spanish giants Real Madrid, after he expressed a desire to move home.
Rafas' revolution is continuing at Liverpool after he captured the signings of hot heads Craig Bellamy and Jermaine Pennant. He also persuaded Gabriel Paletta to leave Atletico Banfield. He is held in high regards by the Banfield faithful and coaching staff.
It is a time for new starts at Middlesbrough and Charlton as new managers Gareth Southgate and Ian Dowie enter and re-enter the fire that is Premiership management.Newly promoted Reading start their first Premier League season at home to Southgates 'Boro, as Coppell makes his return to the top flight. Watford had better be careful with manager Aidy Boothroyd. A really good season could see Aidy moving onto brighter horizons...as could relegation. They start their season back in the Premiership at Goodison Park taking on David Moyes Everton side, who hope to improve on last seasons dissapointment. Sheffield United make their long anticipated return to the promised land, as Warnock makes his Premier League debut. He will have to calm down if he is to avoid bans, fines and disiplinary meetings.
