I feel so bad for them. Your club being relegated is one thing, your club ceasing to exist is another altogether.

Looks very, very bleak - they havent got enough players left to play against Aberdeen at the weekend.

They might be able to get that game postponed, which would at least give them some breathing space - but is it just delaying the inevitable?

They might be able to get that game postponed, which would at least give them some breathing space - but is it just delaying the inevitable? The probelm is that they can only get 10 players who have agreed to play - its breaking their contract with the SPL. its just one problem mounting on top of another.

Bearing in mind they're effectively relegated anyway, and would be even if they had a buyer - is there actually a rule against putting out a team of only 10 men?! Obviously silly if you want to win, but seeing as it doesn't matter now except insofar as the club survives...?!

The game after's at home against Celtic, though, which'd give Gretna a bit of a payday - one last payslip and all that? Bit of exposure for the players who wanna move on, get themselves in the shop window and all that? Truth told, though, if football clubs were animals, Gretna would've already been put to sleep...

I vote we all arrange a sponsored Caramelldansen to aid Gretna in their plight! ;D Guinness book of records job; I reckon we'd get good money if the likes of Gres, Chops, OG and the prowlers were seen doing it publicly! (See my avatar for the dance steps )

its sad to see any club go ...especially for a paltry 30K The 30k is just so they can play at the weekend - there's 2 weeks' unpaid wages, a £350k inland revenue bill, ex-managers seeking £100k and £800k respectively...

The Gretna mascot, Rocky the Rooster, was almost called upon to play in goal at Aberdeen last week, such is the player crisis at the club. (The Sun)

Today's match vs Celtic was played in Livingston, their second 'home' town of the season.
I said at the time of their promotion it was pointless an outpost border village team funded by one man going up, and that it would end this way.
