It should never happen. How can there be that much money floating around in football, but yet... I'll never understand it.

Absolutely. Schevchenko's salary alone would have kept them solvent. There's no justice

Tough! Should have run the club in a more finacially astute manner in the first place. Lots of companies go out of business, thats life!

no not really but all of a sudden bringing in some big money players with big wages will. just look at hunt. got a good new deal 5 months ago and now is threatening to jump ship because he isnt getting as much as some of the rest..............our team spirit and balance is what has got us this far why change it now and start getting in some that are playing for the money and not the club

Hunt deserves more money after having a great season and just wants to be on a level playing field with other members of the team. We will lose our decent players if they can get more money at clubs like Wigan, Fulham, Brum etc. We will also never attract good players if they can get more money elsewhere. You have got to face facts Stu, we are a premier club and yes we may have got away with small wages and transfer fees before but it will not wash for long. Next season is the most important in our history really. If we go down the stadium will not be extened and the whole idea of growing as a club will come to a halt!

i know cav im not demented mate and i know that we will have to bump up the wages over time. but i personally dont think it would help in any way to just suddenly sign a 7 mil player who is on 5 times as much as anybody else.....especially if he sucks arse and is getting a bundle of cash for wasting a place on the bench. i know the point you are making and i understand it. question is are you even getting close to grasping the one im making? and on the hunt side of things i personally dont think we should cave every time a player sais he thinks he deserves more money (i do agree its only rite he is on a level playing field though) but i dont want our club to start being run by the players instead of the peeps who run the show like mr C
