Mourinho is the best and only choice for me. He is a proven winner at the highest level, he has experience working in the English league and he oozes confidence and charisma! There is no way he'd accept the job, the press have turned it into a poison chalice. Furthermore if the FA couldn't afford big Phil! Martin O'Neil is you man

I'm just not looking forward to the supercilious sneer on his face if he gets appointed though - "Looky here, who came crawling back to... The Special One!" Mourinho is Onanism made Flesh! He had the arrogance of Tosshack, but can back it up - maybe thats why you don't like him Jules. Jose was great for English football

I don't think another mild, quiet man is needed. You want someone with passion. I find the word "Psycho" drifting in the direction of this conversation...

He's a great motivator, but I think he still needs to learn more tactically. Five or ten years down the line, he'll probably be a fantastic choice, but not now.

Fair enough but I'm not keen on more "impassive" England managers (for the part of me that's behind England). You get nowhere with these fellas who couldn't stir me from my armchair, let alone motivate an International squad!

He'd probably make a fantastic assistant - and in all fairness, as mild as O'Neill can be, he does get out and get animated when necessary. O'Neill to manage, Pearce as assistant/man-manager?

PMSL, I now have this image of a "good cop, bad cop" routine in the dressing-room! ;D MO: "Okay lads, try to get round behind them, no more of these silly long balls over the top..." SP: "YOU'RE GONNA GET OUT THERE, AND STICK AN ENGLISH HAND-GRENADE UP THEIR ARSES! WOOOOOOO!" hmmm, SP seems to have turned into Cav, but you get my point!

I know but O'Neill is boring. It's a shame in a way that someone like Sir Alex never wanted/took a crack at international management - it'd be great to see England play with flair and passion, rather than like Arsenal circa 1993

Commie Yeah, I think I'd have had a meteoric rise in Soviet Russia, before getting the hump about something, speaking out and ending my life in some freezing Siberian Gulag
