The Republic of Ireland took a big step towards qualifying for the second phase of the European Under-21 Championship with victory over Greece. Ireland went in front after 10 minutes through West Brom's Paul McShane.
They stretched the lead early in the second half when Glen Whelan of Sheffield Wednesday scored.
The win leaves Ireland in control of the group which also involves Belgium who they play next at Terryland Parkin Galway on 1 September.
Belgium will play Greeece in the final match in the group the following week.
The group winners go through to a second qualifying phase.
