Swindon agree to cancel Ince deal Ince has found travelling to Swindon too problematical Swindon Town have cancelled veteran former England star Paul Ince's contract by mutual consent. Ince, 38, who joined Swindon in August, cited "personal reasons" for the move. Swindon revealed the difficulties of Ince living away from home and travelling from his base in Chester had prompted the decision. The club added that Ince will continue in a coaching role alongside boss Dennis Wise "to fulfil the requirements for his coaching badges." Swindon's statement added: "The realities of living away from home and the travel time from Chester have proved more challenging than the ambition to play for his old friend Dennis Wise. "Paul and Dennis have mutually agreed to cancel his contract forthwith but the club would like to wish Paul and his family every success for the future." Wise said: "Basically, he doesn't want to put himself into something that he is not 110% behind and I respect him for that. "He enjoyed being part of the squad but he had to do what was right for him and this is the best move for both parties. We are very open with each other so we had a chat and came to this conclusion." Well that lasted a long time then!
