Hes off to Northampton town by all accounts. Now i would have had him further up the pecking order than Ben May!!

Shame to see him go. Northampton have got themselves a decent player.
To be honest, with the whole Byfield saga and having sold Williams and Hubertz...I think we look pretty weak up front.

Agreed Mizen a distinct lack of pace upfront.

In regards to the Ben May and Poul Hubertz saga, I was reading that Willie Donachie did not like the attitude of Hubertz and that is why he did not pick him. Hubertz: good, not picked coz of attitude. In regards to Ben May he picks him coz he has the right Attitude. Ben May: Shite picked because of good attitude. In case Willie is reading this: I have oodles of good attitude Mr Donachie Sir, pay me the same wages and I will put in an 10 hour day at the Den and do not mind cleaning boots!

Willie might be worried about him being a team player I suppose, however May is a weak option in comparison

Ben May just does not have the right material to be an out and out striker. When I have seen him play he really has not produced anything that gives you hope. Poul Hubertz could hold the ball up, tackle, pass, cross etc... I mean if you look at the minutes played to goal ratio with Hubertz he will come out far better than May, will also come out as a more effective player overall. I just do not understand Donachies Obsession with May. Team wise or not. Hubertz was always the better player, and Willies decision came back to bite him in the ass at Northampton.

I think it will for a while, as Mizen said we've got no credible strikeforce now, so it's another season in Div 1 me thinks

Agreed Hurlock. You get the usual pre-season propoganda about how this season will be better than last etc...but really we know that we will be there another season.
As it goes for Strikers Jay Simpson scored a goal last night and by all accounts had a good game, but one man a strike force does not make. But I agree with you and Mizen, we do not have a credible strike force. You do not need to be Alan Shearer to know that you need to be able to score to get promotion. On the Subject of Last night :That Evil, son of Satan, person I would like to see stampeded by a herd of Buffalo no good Mickey Zak Whitbread scored an own goal! Zak Whitbread is Useless! Another man who has a good attitude but is shite. Has the world gone crazy?

Always thought Whitbread would come good, when we initially got him he showed promise. However his confidence is shot to pieces, seems to be out of possition all the time and exposes us to weak goals.
He's headless, and needs to either sort himslef out or fuck off - I get good attitude at McDonalds does not mean I wnat to work there!
