I used to post regularly on the AOL boards but in Lge.1 you don't have your own board like in the Prem. or Championship, you share it with the whole league.
Being a Forest supporter I witnessed first hand last season what a hard task it is to get back out and I posted this on the site for the benefit of the Millwall supporters.
Several of your supporters came on day after day - post after post telling us how you were going to rip into this league and thrash everyone in sight, bragging about all these fantastic new players you had signed and who was coming and what money the manager had to spend and that you was going to walk this league.
Several of other clubs supporters tried to say it doesn't work that way and that no matter how much money you have it doesn't guarantee success, but most of the posters were abused, criticised and lambasted by the Millwall posters and became very unpopular.
After last weeks debacle there are a few with egg on their faces but they are still there causing a riot on that board and making themselves look more sillier and even more unpopular than before.
That said, I have come on to this site to wish you all the best for this season but I'm afraid there will be one or two of you with the words of "We told you so" ringing in your ears.
Forest came down with money to spend and some very good players but that had no part in it, we had a crap manager (Megson) who couldn’t motivate or play the right football for this league.
I do believe Millwall will suffer the same dilemma as us until they adapt to the football played in this league and having said all that, there was also a lot of Forest supporters that thought that we was too good for this league also.
Trust me; it could get worse before it gets better!!!! Red Lodge.

Red did you read my post about what we need for our side??
After watching a few games its clear to anybody with half a brain that we need to beef our side up. We need a big commanding centre half and two high energy central midfielders.
As you said it could get worse before it gets better, its bollock and bite down at this level. And im sure a few of the new players wont be able to cut it.
And remember this is not AOL im & aol member but very rarely posted on there football message boards, as its full of dick heads in the main.

Millwall will do well when all their players gel, and get a few more in by end of the month and in january. I don't think Forest will get promoted, if everyone thought that after three games then why won't people say it about Port Vale? Just because they are a big club doesn't mean they will do well, their time for a poor run will come...

Just because they are a big club doesn't mean they will do well, their time for a poor run will come... Couldn't agree more, it takes time for a new team to settle especially with the amount of players you've had come in. After last season I won't get carried away and I don't make predictions I take each game as it comes and hope for the best. Certainly many think Forest are still a big club but it goes to show like Man. City & Sheff. Wed. before us you can not take anything for granted, a couple of bad seasons, poor management!! and you're in the crap like the 2 of us. I wasn't knocking you in my opening post cos' I wish you all the success but I think it will take time for all of your players to gel, plus the adjustments to your football to get out of this league. Quite right, you can't have pretty, pretty players down here, you need players to crunch and players that can take the crunch. Like you say you will need a no nonsense centre half that not only commands at the back but who can also bark his instruction to the players around him, command their respect and get the best out of them. I don't have to remember it's not AOL I'm out of there now (Thank God) I find this is a far better site when talking to other clubs supporters. Red Lodge.

Just as a back up to what I was saying earlier about some of the postings of the wall fans on AOL here is a sample:
Message 2 of 2 Subject 1 of 2 Subject: Re: Millwall for promotion Date: 08/07/2006 16:45 GMT Daylight Time From: Bagggpus

Message 1 of 2 Subject 1 of 8 Subject: Re: MILLWALL FANS Date: 21/07/2006 20:29 GMT Daylight Time From: Bagggpus MsgId: 547644:37447 Talk is cheap, wait until The Millwall nutters are stuck in mid table and we'll see where their voices have gone then........
MID TABLE IN THIS LEAGUE, YER HAVIN A LARF,A SUNDAY LEAGUE TEAM COULD DO BETTER,WE WILL WALK IT,CUM ON YOU LIONS
That's why you are down here in this Sunday League with us you DUMBO because you weren't good enough in the Championship. I shall save your comments and rub your nose in it by sticking it back on here when you aint doing all that well in our 'Sunday League' then we will be having a LAAARRRFFF and the only thing you lot will be walking is a plank!!!
Message 2 of 14 Subject 2 of 4 Subject: Re: Nottingham Forest to win this league 2006/7 Date: 23/07/2006 17:23 GMT Daylight Time From: Bagggpus
MsgId: 547644:37496
Yep I think so. Don't count yer chickens just yet lol. How can they when wall are going to win it
And that's the typical postings that revs people up and makes the poster look rather silly when it doesn't happen.

To be honnest with you mate, I didn't really expect much this season, however Spackman has made some good signings and most of them on frees - so we're just picking up their wages. So I think I had a right to get excited and hope that we would bounce back straight away, believe me I wanted to expirience better football than last season. When basically I resorted to turning up pissed to numb the pain I was feeling. However I'm sure you know what I mean, because as you say you've been there. I will be happy with a play off spot, I will be extatic with promotion. What can I say, i support Millwall and I expect results! EUROLIONS
