I think they are a little naive if that is right. MK Dons has brought football to a rapidly expanding area with a potentially huge fan base. They have involved local schools and set up a junior system across a range of age groups. Not only is this very positive for the development of football in the area it is also a very effective marketing strategy ensuring a wide fan base for the future. This is coupled with incredibly generous season ticket and match ticket concession schemes to younger fans. All very progressive. The fact that Wimbledon were ground sharing and fighting for existence suggests that it was everything that MK Dons isn't. MK Dons is run properly and commercially, strategies which are absent from many other clubs in the football league, but which are essential. Picking the bones out of a defunct club and pinching their place in the football league was (in my view) a stroke of genius on the part of MK and was facilitated by the ineptitude of the football league and those running Wimbledon football club. I like your picture. Have you seen The Dons new stadium? MARKETING STRATEGY? Those words are not a good defence for an argument regarding over-comercialization! An interesting fact, I just found out that "The club (AFC Wimbledon) currently hold the all-time English record for the most consecutive unbeaten league games by any senior football club, having achieved 78 league matches in a row without defeat over a period spanning three seasons." whereas "MK Dons are the only club in the top 4 English divisions to have finished lower each season in the leagues for the last five seasons." I think that says all I will ever need to about a 'Successfully run club'. By the way, I looked at the McStadium, and it looks pretty ugly. where they think they're gonna find 22,000 fans, I have no idea, although I''m sure the hotel and Basketball court will help matters hugely.

They wanted to start in a higher league and worked out a way of doing it with a little help from Wimbledon. My comment was more about the competence of football's governing body in allowing it to happen than anything else. I didn't say that I thought it was 'great'.

We'll agree to disagree on this Mowgli, no point in arguing for the sake of it
Like Gres says, you do argue your points well, so kudos for that - it's just I won't ever be able to agree!

Sorry. I can't leave it alone. I accept your point. But you can't blame MK for doing what they did. It was within the rules and MK didn't make nor does it enforce, those rules. Thats it now, I'm going back to my board. Good luck in the Prem.

I can blame MK and i will blame them - whilst they did something that was 'within the rules' it doesnt mean its right and proper - and you've admitted it was morally wrong - thus proving our point! THAT alone is why i dislike the club!
