No particular reason for choosing those two; just thought I'd throw them both in together.
For me, it's Fallout Boy - AM's stuff never really grabbed me (good, not great), and I've known FB for ages; a friend knew them back when they were doing the 'local' scene in Chicago and sent me some stuff! ;D

Never heard any FOB, but they win it by default as the Arctic Monkeys are very poor indeed

Arctic Monkeys all the way. People who don't like the Arctic Monkeys fit into 2 categories.
1) They don't like the music, fair enough
2) They don't want to like them because they are so popular and hyped up, and they think it makes it look like they have expertise in analysing music that others don't have if they say they don't like them. There are far too many in this category.

(With the exception of the people that listen to unsigned bands) That single comes out everyone loves it then people say oh i dont like them. All because of Hype. They are one of the best groups around atm.

Seriously though I know what you mean. People will always either build things up to knock them down or pretend to not like something popular to somehow appear ‘cool’. For me, the hype is a side issue – musically they leave me cold and I resent it being implied that by not liking them I am somehow putting on a front (though no one here is implying that of me).
I don’t begrudge them their success, they did work to publicise themselves and they’ve obviously tapped into a market, so fair play to them for that.

We all have our own music likes and dislikes. I mean I know loads of people that like Razorlight but I personally dont see what is so great about them much like you with AM.

There are far too many in this category. Number 1 for me - people who fit into #2 generally piss me off regardless of which band it is. There's a lot of people like that about Robbie Williams too - granted, his more recent stuff's been poor, but his early solo stuff up to and (debatably) including Rock DJ was pretty good, especially the singles. How do you spot these people? "Robbie Williams is shit!" "I bet you liked [insert a couple of song titles here]" "...well... yeah, but he's shit!" I kid you not, I've had that conversation with at least 10 people

Don't get me started on Razorlight I guess it's not a genre I'm keen on in general but I do like The Killers and The Kaiser Chiefs though.

Bullshit and bollocks!! I love music and don't care whether they are popular or not. I just don't particularly like what I have heard by them. Tuneless noise IMO Arctic Monkeys all the way. Yeah agreed Neko. However I dont like Robbie Williams as a bloke no idea why just dont. His music on the otherhand will make him one of the best acts of all time without a doubt. The Killers are fantastic got their new album yesterday Kaiser Chiefs are ok a little dissapointing live
