...anyone watch this on channel 4 tonight? Interesting to say the least! Basically a documentary style 'film' based on the scandal and cover up of the Battle for Haditha in Iraq where 24 civilians were massacred by American troops. A cover up followed (as we would come to expect from the yanks) and this film tells the story of what 'supposedly' happened! Disturbing stuff and cant do the war effort any good but definately worth watching or buying if possible!

It was really good, with much of the dialogue inprovised. The story is not a pleasant one, particularly if you are a serving US soldier but this sort of thing happens in war and goes by unnoticed. The lead character (who actually plays a fictional character) used to be a serving US soldier and was injured in Iraq (shows his injury as part of the film) - it works really well, to the point where you feel its a real documentary. This is what its about: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haditha_killings

I doubt it, more a case of the lesser of two evils Its a mixed bag i think, but some certainly did (i was watching a documentary about Iraq the other day). Its war i'm afraid, shit happens and i would say this film shows it in the worst possible scenario - after all, the soldiers were instructed to treat both the houses as hostile..so they did. Common sense didnt play a part though!
