The Deer Hunter! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!! Jules, apart from the 'Russian Roulette' scene it's nigh on 3 hours of ponderous faces and wildlife shots! It's the only De Niro 'classic' that I don't love too.

I've only seen it once, ages ago, but I didn't think it was all that bad. You seem to enjoy wandering up behind classic movies and goosing them...!

Two short films hamfistedly stuck together! Apocalypse Now is obviously a great movie but Platoon is a little more... how can I put this - SANE and WATCHABLE! Tisn't my fault that you don't appreciate good movies! (PS: yeah saw about Wise, but could it get worse?! HOOOOOF! )

On the subject of poor-but-acclaimed films, anyone else thinking the Blade and Matrix trilogies? In both cases:
#1 was great #2 was a bit of a let-down, but had a couple of highlights #3 was shite

It did lack the satirical edge somewhat! I found Jesus less philosophical than Brian too. Way too much of a drama queen!
