After watching yet another in a procession of mediocre high school films I was wondering if anyone could restore my faith in the film genre and recommend any titles? So, which are the best high school and teen films in your opinion? I'd have to offer up the following..... Dazed & Confused Donnie Darko Clueless Ferris Bueller's Day Off The Breakfast Club American Graffiti Say Anything Fast Times At Ridgemont High Pretty In Pink The Sure Thing Gregory's Girl Election Rushmore Anything else?

Watched Heathers again recently, and...I dunno, it's good, it's dark, but I think it's a little overrated. Still haven't seen Pump Up The Volume though.....are you a bit of a Christian Slater fan, Eoin??

battle royale Yes, not quite sure it fits comfortably within the genre....you'd never see Lindsay Lohan or Molly Ringwald in it now would you??

Might be just stretching it Travis but I loved Pleasantville ( Maguire & Witherspoon) learning about life after being mysteriously transported via the TV into a 50s whiter than white soap. Also try Ghost World(Johannson & Birch) where Birch learns maturity over a summer after teasing a shy social inadequate played by Steve Buscemi. Its set after graduation but it's worth watching as a rites of passage movie. Apparently Wonder Boys is very good but its still on my shelves waiting to be watched. How about Goodbye Mr.Chips ?

Pleasantville is very good, and Ghost World is fantastic (and a rather embarrasing oversight on my part ), thought Wonder Boys was alright, and if you like it I'd recommend Finding Forrester too.

As I've said before Eoin VS is a superb film(watched it umpteen times) . Cheers for the rec.Trav. How about Picnic at Hanging Rock ? A truly enigmatic film which is full of visual splendours & a bit spooky in places. Don't bother with Teasing Mrs.Tingle or Disturbed Behaviour. Reasonable to watch if you have nothing else to do or if you like Katie Holmes ...
