Yeah baby it'll break new ground. The funkiest piece of cinematography ever produced, may cause viewers to experience severe butt pleasures.

A ROOM FOR ROMEO BRASS Director Shane Meadows' second feature, and Paddy Considine's big screen debut, tells the tale of two working class boys, Gavin and Romeo, and the unlikely friendship they strike up with 20 year-old Morrell (Considine), a naive and eccentric stranger. Initially, a warm and friendly acquaintance, Morrell entrusts the two kids to help him in his attempts to woo Romeo's older sister, Ladine. When Gavin betrays Morrell's trust, a new darker side emerges, and a Morrell's continued attempts to lure Ladine fails, his frustrations manifest themselves into genuine menace. The film can be very much considered a sister piece for the brilliant Dead Man's Shoes. Again, Considine is exceptional; his character in the film is essentially an amalgam of the two brothers' characters in DMS; dark, comic and tragic. Add to that, two excellent child performances, sterling support and a terrific soundtrack, and you have another Meadows film that's well worth a look. 8/10 And briefly....... THE BLACK DAHLIA Immaculately presented, and as you'd expect from Brian De Palma, stylishly directed. And it's got Scarlett Johansson!! Just a pity then that it's a bit dull. 5/10 But Scarlett can't act or is it just her mammories you're interested in?

The Day After Tommorow
Saw it on Film 4 last night thought it was a good film to watch while munching a pizza. Good performances from Dennis "Inner Space" Quaid and Jake"should of been Spiderman" Gyllenhall and Ian"Bilbo Baggins" Holm Roland Emmerich seems to do well with the disaster films such as Godzilla (which was a bit pants) and Independence Day whcih I quiet enjoy to watch. A good film to veg out to.

the new turtles film..... rather plesantly suprised about it cause i thought it was going to be another awsome thing from the past being dragged through the mud to make a few bucks but it was rather good even on my computer some of the visuals were really good, it made me chuckle a fair few times just like when i was a kid watching the old ones so all in all well worth a watch and i give it7.5/10

But Scarlett can't act or is it just her mammories you're interested in? I was enchanted by her performances in Girl With a Pearl Necklace Earing and Lost in Translation. Never noticed if she's well equipped up top, must have a look next time.

Sunshine
I was looking forwards to watching 'Sunshine' for a while now. I finally talked Mrs A2V into going to see it last night ........... and what a massive disappointment it was. While the visuals were impressive and the tension built steadily for a while. It moved along too slowly in general which meant that when the plot finally unravelled the climax was far too rushed. The plot was quite formulaeic in general, and if you've seen space thrillers such as 'Event Horizon' etc etc ........... there's nothing new here. Even if you haven't steer clear of this, unless you have two hours of your life that you want to waste by watching a bad film.
I haven't been as bored since I watched 'Notes on a Scandel' 3/10

ACCEPTED
When Bartleby (Justin Long), a high school waster is rejected from every university he applies to, he stumbles upon the idea to create his own to keep his over zealous parents off his back.
A fairly original concept for a teen/high school comedy that has its moments, although falling within the restraints and cliches of the genre undermine what could've been a memorable movie. Still a passable 90 minutes entertainment though.
6/10
SAW III
Oh dear, when is this going to stop? While Saw was a strikingly original and involving film, and it's sequel at least compensated for an inferior storyline by upping the ante on the gore stakes, this latest instalment falls short in every respect.
Initially at least, I thought that Saw III was setting out to further push back the boundaries of the new wave of 'gorenography' flicks; ultimately though it even flattered to deceive in this respect. The deaths and torture scenes felt stale and unimaginative, while the narrative which alternated between a redemption based game and an incredibly dull back story failed to hold any degree of interest.
Can we stop this now, please??

Fun With Dick And Jane
Now I know many of you out there don't like Jim Carrey but I think there are odd things that he's good in. I was actually suprised that I laughed quite a bit in this film.
Jim Carrey is Dick, he becomes the Vice Presisdent of a company that is about to be indited for fraud unbeknown to him. His wife, Jane (Tea Leoni) quits her job when he gets the promotion. The company goes bankrupt and both Dick and Jane struggle to find new job. On the brink of eviction they become white collar criminals, very bad ones. As they become better they find out that Dick's former CEO (ALec Baldwin) has pocketed the $400 million dollars for himself when the company crashed. Dick and Jane then decide to become modern day Robin Hoods and rob the CEO.
There is the obvious slapstick moments that Carrey obviously demands are put into every film but it's not over the top and I was suprised to learn the Tea Leoni has more than one facial expression.
If you hate Carrey then steer clear if you don't it's worth a watch.
5/10

Gangs Of New York
You all know the story but for those in need of knowing, here we go.
Set in the late 1800's, during the massive immigrations to New York, there are tensions between the "Natives" and the irish in the five points, the most gang infested area of New York at the time.
A priest (Liam Neeson), and the young boy amsterdam's (Leo Di Caprio) father, was the leader of the Irish gang, the dead rabbits. During a riot between the rabbits and the natives, the priest is killed by the butcher (the leader of the natives-Daniel Day Lewis) in front of his son.
Years later, amsterdam (Leo Di Caprio) comes back to the 5 points and befriends the butcher working and socialising with him and his native crew. However, all this is done with the intent to trick the butcher and then kill him on the anniversary of his father's death. Meanwhile, the dumbass falls in love with a prostitute/pickpocket/burglar named Jenny (Not Lollipop but Cameron Diaz)
After the butcher realizes amsterdams intentions, amsterdam resurrects the dead rabbits and a faceoff is going to go down between the natives and the rabbits where ultimatly, the story will reach its conclusion.
Wont say anymore in case there are some of you that haven't seen it.
I'd give a Tenacious Lee rating of 8 out of 10

THE QUEEN
Stephen Frears' award-laden film takes a detailed look at the immediate aftermath of Diana, Princess of Wales' death, and how the Palace and Downing Street handled events in the lead up to the day of her funeral.
Essentially an examination of the relationship between the Queen and Tony Blair, the film; usually through the eyes of Blair, initially portrays a sense of exasperation and bemusement at the inaction of our monarch, but also as our appreciation of her role grows, and the stifling straitjacket of tradition and protocol becomes wholly evident, so the film (and Blair) becomes more sympathetic and there blossoms an admiration for the woman.
Helen Mirren, as her awards suggests, utterly convinces as the Queen, while Michael Sheen, really deserved more accolades for his role as the PM. Blair especially, and both the Queen and Prince Charles emerge from the piece with notable credit, though the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen Mother fare less well, both appearing either oblivious or impervious to the conventions of modern society.
8/10
SEVERANCE
A British horror movie, with a line of black humour running through its heart, Severance plays like a 'Friday the 13th' sequel, only with a group of office workers on a team building weekend, substituting for a group of sex mad teens.
There are some genuinely funny moments, and plenty of irony, though precious few scares. The killings are very much of the sub-Hostel variety, and in the end the script seems to be a little too ambitious. Danny Dyer, plays.....well err, Danny Dyer as always (ie. a 'geezer'), but as a 90-minute 'no brainer', it's not bad.
6/10

And good to see you've seen 'Romeo Brass' Trav. Tell me, just how satisfying is that scene towards the end where the other dad leaps from the lorry and gives Considine a damn good kicking? A genuine heart in the mouth moment for me...
