Am I wrong in the assumption that it would have been better to have Stuart Pearce as England Manager instead of some foreigner who will have no passion or fight for his native team ?

I'd rather have a foreigner who's among the best in the world than an Englishman who's still only an infant in managerial terms.
If you think Capello's gonna have no passion or fight, though, you seriously underestimate the man. He may not have the passion of a fan, but he has the fight of a man who doesn't take defeat very well, and whose entire career is made of brutal success stories, not heroic failures. He'll be ruthless in his quest to win a trophy - this'll probably be his last managerial job, given that he'd already retired to punditry once, and failure would taint everything he's built up through his entire life.
Make no mistake, even if we're facing Italy in the final, Capello will go out to win.

Yes!no, i think a failed club manager would have been great for the national team, rather than a successful manager

Pearce couldn't manage Nottingham Forest or Man City. Let him get some expirience and then he'll be ready. I'm impressed with Cappello, he's banned mobiles, WAGS who lets be honest are part of the reason the players don't give a fuck

In all fairness to Pearce, he's done reasonably well with the U-21's, but I think the step up to full national manager is a huge leap, in several ways, and he's nowhere near ready for it.

He will be England manager soon, but as you say he simply hasn't got the expirience as yet
