Bradford have revealed they turned down a transfer deadline day bid from Premiership club Wigan for 37-year-old striker Dean Windass. Wigan offered £350,000, with a further £150,000 to follow if the club retained their Premiership status. Windass, who has two seasons left to run on his contract at Bradford, was not informed of Wigan's interest The offer was Wigan boss Paul Jewell's third attempt to bring Windass to the JJB Stadium. Wigan made the bid at 1900 BST on Thursday 31 August, five hours before the transfer window closed. But the Bantams chairman Julian Rhodes decided the amount of money on offer was not enough to part with Windass. Windass was said to be "disappointed" by Bradford's decision not to inform him of the bid. ................................................................................................... Why the hell would you want him?

He recently said he wants to stay at Bradford and play til he's 40. The man gets respect for having a surname that reminds me of flatulence.
