West Brom's Ronnie Wallwork has played in his first competitive game since suffering multiple stab wounds in a Manchester club three months ago. The 29-year-old midfielder completed 90 minutes for the reserves against Walsall on Wednesday.
"He grew stronger as the game went on," reserve-team coach Craig Shakespeare told the club website.
"I spoke to him after the game and he said he was feeling shattered but pleased with his first game back."
Wallwork was on loan to Barnsley when he was stabbed seven times during the incident in late November.
The holding midfielder began his career at Manchester United but was unable to break into the first team after seven years at the club.
