Herbs and spices.....been in my cupboard for over a year, unopened, unused. I want to use them now, they'll be ok, right?

Should be fine. If they're more than a year out of date, tis probably best not to use them.. Whatcha making?

Sorry,dried herbs and spices last for ages as long as they are kept dry.

Well it says Oct 2007 as the BBD. But just wanted to make sure.
I'm making dinner for my family - I don't know why 'cos I am so bad!
Some bright spark got me loads of herbs and spices and a cook book for Christmas 2005 - this will be the first time I'm using them.
I'm making some lamp chop, herby, lemony concoction.

Use dried herbs sparingly as they are more potent.

Yum yum! I am currently cooking some of my favourite marinated chicken thighs. Left them overnight in some herbs and spices and some chilli flakes.

Whereas out of date meat comes out better in the bog. Herbs and spices last for ages, the older they are the better they come out in a dish ;D
