Yeah but i think your in danger of not quite getting the equilibrium of the side right with too many young english players. There is no denying its good to have a strong english influence throughout the sdie. Some of them are really good players too like Robbo, King, Lennon and Carrick. Some are kinda good but will not progress much from the level they are at now like Jenus and the others. I think you need to have 2 to 3 of what i'd call players in the 'world' bracket especially as you should really be playing in europe year in year from now on. I'd like to see you get a few of the names your linked too such as Kuijt/ Duff/ Torres and such alike but thats just my opinion. An English/British spine/core is good. An all England team is not a good idea, unless we can get Gerrard and Rooney. But it is a fun excercise proposing a complete team of England prospects, especially in discussions with the gooners. Not sure if we are looking at another established striker unless Defoe leaves. Kuyt was the top target apparently for most of the past year, until we bought Berbatov, and Torres was mentioned in January. But I think Torres is pricing himself out of our reach in this world cup. A quality left winger is the priority, regardless of nationality. Duff would certainly fit the bill and £8m would be a good price. Well you got Keane, Berbatov and Defoe.....that is not enough to fight on all fronts if you ask me. You'll ned another to deal with the competitions and if there are injuries etc. Duff would be great for you....Irish guy so he would only contribute to the british core. One guy who would have also been good for you but he just signed for Lyon was Kim Kallstrom.

Well he didn't do much on loan at Charlton and was woeful for Aston Villa, actually since Stan Collymore and Dwight Yorke, strikers tend to be rubbish at Villa, it must be a midlands curse.

You'll ned another to deal with the competitions and if there are injuries etc. I just can't see us going for a big name (Kujt, Torres) as the fourth striker. More likely to be a young prospect, but you never know. Duff would be great for you....Irish guy so he would only contribute to the british core. One guy who would have also been good for you but he just signed for Lyon was Kim Kallstrom. Lallstrom was one of many linked to us. I like the sound of Ryan Babel, but he is still largely a prospect (although in the Dutch squad). Duff and Babel might be a good balance of experience and youth for the left side. Also if we get more winger type players, then we might play 4-3-3 sometimes, with Lennon/Routledge and Duff/Babel filling the wide positions. Then three strikers would be enough.

Villa are boring and probably do contribute to strikers losing their touch.....the league would be a better place without them

Babel...yeah he's the nippy dutch guy, yeah i've heard of him i think he plays for Ajax. Jol being dutch would have a good influence on him and he sounds like he'd do ok, possibly complimeting Lennon on the other side and providing a decent balance.

I also read that Man City are interested in signing Helder Postiga, did they not see him play for Tottenham?
Just a classier version of Rasiak.

I like Rebrov, but Hoddle discarded him as he was George Graham's big signing, and lets think Hoddle's transfers were woeful.

Good evening SB, I think this is all paper talk, dont think Jenas has a say over our transfer policy, and nor should any other player.
