how much money do spurs have to spend?? I think around 25 million is available. About 10-12M has been available for a striker since last year and there will be aroun another 10M new money this summer. We have also sold a few players this year, netting around 8M (7M for the Pompey trio, 2M for Brown, 2M for Rasiak - offset by about 4M for Murphy and Ghaly). So if the right players are available, we could have up to 30M.

plus some money from our new sponsership deal I'm not adding the sponsorship deal as a separate item. That will contribute in part to the 10M new money, but I think the extra funds are needed for the improved wages for exisiting players. Hence the recent new contracts for King, Dawson, Lennon and (hopefully soon) Carrick. Having built the team, we must now keep it together. We cannot continue with King and Carrick on 30k and 15k pw (this season), when their England colleagues are getting 70-100k.

give us a loan You should have a minimum for an extra 18M this season from TV and prize money. This assumes minimum TV coverage and finishing bottom. Presumably you can also boost match day revenues, though I don't know your stadium capacity and attendances last season) and add in some improved sponsorship deal. So you should be able to strengthen the team considerably.

Well, its possible to pick up some decent players for 10 million: say, Robinson 1.5M, Lennon 1M, Carrick 3.5M, Dawson 4M.

After the success of Wigan and West Ham this season, it might be a bit easier for promoted clubs to attract new players as it shows a relegation dogfight is not inevitable.

LES FERDINAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D You can't have him anyway, he's a player / coach for us! When on the rare occasion he does grace the pitch, the opposing defenders can be seen running away in fear of Sir Les unleashing the motorised zimmaframe
